Recycling Fact Sheet

BLH, Inc. is a Springfield company designed and dedicated to the proper reclamation and recycling of the electronic waste stream. It is of critical importance to any recycling effort is that it be done in an environmentally prudent manner. We take this issue very seriously. All of our operations are environmentally sound, continually monitored and audited internally and externally. We recognize our customers’ needs and our industry’s “cradle to grave” responsibilities, to encourage that all regulatory requirements are met.

Computer Recycling

The recycling process consists of reuse, reduction and recycling; items are reused where possible. Items that are not able to be reused in their current configuration are “broken down” or reduced into their various components and those components are then used in other systems to make them useable. Items that are not able to be reused in any way are recycled through one of our many different vendors. These companies deal in the large scale reclamation process. Nothing is thrown away. Everything is continually broken down further and then smelted to reclaim the precious metals and source materials. These materials are then reintroduced into the supply stream for new systems and components.

BLH Computers accepts most items at no charge. However, due to the classification of some items as hazardous waste by the EPA there are some charges for items which carry this classification. We take any computer equipment regardless of age or operating condition. Click here to request a free inspection

Our goal is to promote the best and most efficient re-use of computer equipment, and recycle all unusable items to keep them out of our landfills. Click or call today for a free inspection. If you have any questions about items we will accept, please call. We do pickups and accept drop-offs. All information is removed from drives before reuse in other systems. We will upon request, issue a receipt for items received during normal business hours. If the request for pickup form includes the serial numbers we will issue a “proof of destruction” letter when the items are recycled.
